Vin
Enjoy it now, or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant before serving. Domaine Pierre Guillemot was founded in 1946 and occupies a charming corner of Savigny-les-Beaune’s town square. It is run by brothers Vincent and Pierre, who source their grapes, both red and white, from 8 hectares of land, spread across the green fields of Burgundy. They represent the sixth generation of Guillemot winemakers and have a wealth of generational knowledge to draw from. This is the winery’s first pure Chardonnay bottling. On the nose, you can discover scents of limestone minerality, white flowers, hazelnuts, and lemon and orange peel. It was crafted with grapes from a sparse, rocky site above the Côte de Beaune region, exhibiting a different side of Burgundy - as the Guillemot family see it. These rich, mineral notes continue into the palate, along with a delicate creaminess, hints of toasted nuts, and vibrant acidity. Look for notes of citrus zest, candied lemon, acacia, wet stone, sea shells, and tart orchard fruits. It is a refined, classy wine, the perfect choice for those seeking an underrated white Burgundy, from an esteemed winemaking family. Consider pairing it with soft cheese, creamy pasta, or a roast chicken.
GRANDE CUVEE
Cellar for up to 5 years. Serve chilled. The Sieur d’Arques cooperative was created in 1946 by a group of local winemakers who wanted to pool their expertise and resources to create the best possible wines from their exceptional vines. Their Grand Cuvee 1531 is named after the famous year when the monks of the nearby Abbey of Saint Hilaire transformed the region’s winemaking traditions by making the world’s very first sparkling wine in their cellars. Today the cooperative focuses on producing delicious sparkling and still red and white wines using local grape varieties. This Grand Cuvee Cremant de Limoux is a dry rosé sparkling wine which is made from Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc as well as a touch of Pinot Noir to give the gorgeous subtle pink hue. Enticing aromas of crushed raspberries, strawberries and ripe peaches characterise the nose, while the palate offers a refreshing acidity, smooth bubbles and delicious berry flavours. Cremant de Limoux is made according to the traditional method which is the same process used for making Champagne. After a first fermentation the wine is bottled and a second fermentation takes place in the bottle to create the bubbles. The wine is then aged for 12 months in the bottle with the yeast cells which helps to give a well-rounded texture and delicious hints of pastry and toasted nuts.

Norman Mailer 1945-1946 (LOA #364)
A landmark in the modern literature of war by a still-controversial literary icon Includes a selection of letters--nine never before published--that reveal the real life roots of one of the greatest American debut novels of the last century Nearly universally praised upon publication as an achievement inviting comparison with Tolstoy and Hemingway, Norman Mailer's The Naked and the Dead is not just a monumental war novel but also a devastating antiwar novel, exposing the primal nature of power through the interplay of a platoon of soldiers on an impossible and ultimately pointless mission on an obscure island in the Pacific during World War II. Written just after the war ended, in the early days of the emerging Cold War, the novel daringly engages with the authoritarian impulses in the American character. To celebrate and commemorate the centennial of Mailer's birth and the 75th anniversary of the publication of his unforgettable debut novel, this expanded collector's edition includes
