Grete er flyttet ind hos Jensen - på prøve - og har fået et vikariat som frisør på Aarhus Teater. Aftenen før hendes tiltrædelse fejrer de deres nye samliv ved at gå i teatret og se premieren på Dracula. Dog fornemmer de straks uro blandt skuespillerne. Louise Stuk, ensemblets unge stjerne, mangler på scenen, og da Jensen og Grete efter forestillingen ser sig om bag kulisserne, finder de hende dræbt med en af teaterets dødelige rekvisitter - samme dag, som stjerneinstruktøren Walter Richard blev suspenderet i en krænkelsessag.
