Walker Payne
WALKER PAYNE är en dramatisk kärlekshistoria som utspelar sig i södra Illinois kolbrytartrakter 1957. Walker (Jason Patric) är en småstadscasanova som blir arbetslös när gruvan läggs ner. Hans enda hopp och kärlek i livet är hans två vackra döttrar. Walkers exfru (Drea De Matteo) vill lämna stan till varje pris för att fly från sitt eländiga liv och ger Walker ett erbjudande: flickorna i utbyte mot kontanter. Arbetslös, straffad och fast i en döende stad finns det inte mycket hopp om att Walker ska få sina döttrar - inte förrän den förbindlige skojaren Syrus (Sam Shepard) rullar in i stan och erbjuder Walker en chans att tjäna massor av pengar. Walkers liv blir ännu mer invecklat när han träffar och blir kär i Audrey (KaDee Strickland), en kvinna som försöker fly sitt förflutna. Syrus förleder Walker och lockar in honom i en våldspräglad värld och tvingar honom att fatta hjärtslitande beslut.
