Plattan spelades in under två besök i Los Angeles under 2020 och 2021 och har producerats avveteranen och producenten Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith, Cass McCombs, Kurt Vile) i Mant Studios tillsammans med fleråriga vännen Justin Tripp. Att albumet innebar en förflyttning som var mer än geografisk märks också rent musikaliskt; från den klassiska gitarren och pianot till den själfulla sången på titelspåret och den elektriska pianopulsen på låten "Reflection".
