Samtal fyller våra liv, från tv-sända nyhetsintervjuer till familjers förhandlingsarbete. För många yrkesgrupper, som läkare, sjuksköterskor, socialarbetare, lärare och jurister, är samtalet det viktigaste verktyget. Denna bok presenterar Goffman, samtalsanalys och andra teorier om samtal, tillämpade på olika arenor: från rättssalen, läkarmottagningen och klassrummet till samtal runt köksbordet. Här diskuteras teori och empiri med bäring på styrning, motstånd och vardagslivets diplomati, från barnets första dialog till skolans kvartssamtal och föräldrars vårdnadstvister. Fokus är på diskursiva resurser och oskrivna regelverk, men också på hur det uppstår pauser, glipor och avbrott i samtal. Mycket i boken handlar om samtal med barn och den är rik på samtalsexempel som kan diskuteras i undervisningssammanhang. Åtskilliga av dem kommer från samtal där något står på spel. Om författarenKarin Aronsson forskar, utifrån observationer och inspelade data, kring samtalsmönster i olika institutionella sammanhang. Under tjugo år var hon verksam som professor vid tema Barn, Linköpings universitet. I dag verkar hon som professor emeritus vid institutionen för barn och ungdomsvetenskap vid Stockholms universitet. Sanaaq
Sanaaq is an intimate story of an Inuit family negotiating the changes brought into their community by the coming of the qallunaat, the white people, in the mid-nineteenth century. Composed in 48 episodes, it recounts the daily life of Sanaaq, a strong and outspoken young widow, her daughter Qumaq, and their small semi-nomadic community in northern Quebec. Here they live their lives hunting seal, repairing their kayak, and gathering mussels under blue sea ice before the tide comes in. These are ordinary extraordinary lives: marriages are made and unmade, children are born and named, violence appears in the form of a fearful husband or a hungry polar bear. Here the spirit world is alive and relations with non-humans are never taken lightly. And under it all, the growing intrusion of the qallunaat and the battle for souls between the Catholic and Anglican missionaries threatens to forever change the way of life of Sanaaq and her young family.
