Huggormars Högland
Hemma i Kråksången. Där bibelbältet dras åt som allra hårdast, som en barnamördares snara knäcker nacken, där ligger Kråksången. Omringad av småländsk skog som tycks oändlig, långt borta från Jönköping och förändring. I natur mörk av skrock, på stigar randiga av huggormar, i sjunkande stugor och flagnande hus. Alltid dessa jävla huggormar. Sofia återvänder hem till byn Kråksången i det småländska höglandet, där det närmsta hon hade föräldrar var sekten Den förtärande elden, som nu blöder medlemmar i dödsryckningarna efter en livlig väckelserörelse. Ärren på Sofias kropp kliar och viskar om gamla trauman, men hon har lovat sig själv och sin lillebror lilla Björn att återvända hem och hämta honom på hans artonårsdag. Och hon kommer inte kunna göra det utan att konfrontera Herden, ledaren för Den förtärande elden. Samtidigt blir medlemmar i sekten mördade och Sofia befarar att det har att göra med lilla Björn. Huggormars högland är en Southern Gothic-berättelse i det småländska bibelbältet, litterär slipstream där en verklighet bestående av mörk skog och torr jord långsamt luckras upp och blottar den metafysiska dimensionen bakom.

Christine Ödlund
A monograph devoted to the original Swedish artist and composer. This book is published on the occasion of the extensive solo exhibition by Christine Ödlund (the first large institutional presentation of her work in Sweden). Since the first solo exhibition at the alternative art space Ynglingagatan 1 in Stockholm in 1995, Ödlund has continued to create unique encounters between art, science and music. Her artistic practice includes a wide range of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, animation, installations with living plants, electroacoustic music, and more. Ödlund's artworks draw inspiration from fields such as theosophy, synesthesia and biology. For example, she has researched how plants, specifically stinging nettles, interact and communicate with one another at the Royal Institute of Technology's Department of Organic Chemistry in Stockholm. During the course of this exhibition, Ödlund will expand her study of sensory reactions, to a greater variety of plant species.
