Eine kleine Nachtmusik ("en liten nattmusik") är ett av den klassiska musikens mest berömda stycken. Den är skriven för enbart stråkar och är till formen en serenad, det vill säga: den var avsedd för en aftonunderhållning. Detsamma gäller Serenata notturna ("Nattlig serenad"), komponerad tio år tidigare för några av Mozarts välbärgade vänner i Salzburg. Tänk om man kunde vända sig någonstans och få sådan musik skriven på beställning för en fest!"Eine kleine Nachtmusik" hör till den senare perioden av Mozarts liv. Detta verk komponerades i augusti 1787 vid en tid då Mozart som bäst var upptagen med en uppsättning av sin nya opera "Don Giovanni" i Prag. Serenaden inleds med musik som är sprudlande glad och följs av en charmig romans, en yster menuett och ett avslutande rondo. Svenska Kammarorkestern / Petter Sundkvist.
