Ranaldo Lee: Between times & tides 2012
När tidningen Rolling Stone listade tidernas 100 mest inflytelserika gitarrister hamnade indiegudarna Lee Ranaldo tillsammans med sin Sonic Youth-broder Thurston Moore på plats nummer 33. Det säger en hel del om Ranaldos status som gitarrist. På soloalbumet "Between The Times And The Tides" står Ranaldo på egna ben, men fångar också upp ett flertal kända musiker i inspelningen, bland andra trummisen Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth) och gitarrvirtuosen Nels Cline (Wilco). Ranaldo beskriver själv "Between The Times And The Tides" som "ett självsäkert album som drar paralleller till tidigare projekt, men som samtidigt bjuder på ett helt nytt och mer uppriktigt sound".
