Då hördes en dov röst: Agnes, vi far nu. Vid bergens alla andar, vi måste rädda Bogard och hertiginnan. Vid alla avgrundsdemoner! Agnes såg bara ett stort skägg som fladdrade i vinden. Solen hade brutit fram och lyste henne rakt i ögonen. Hon förstod att det var Rofoir som hälsat henne. Ett pirr i hennes huvud, följt av en skarp röst, skar genom allt. "Det är bråttom, Agnes.
