Polisinspektör Annika Vester misstänker att de två fallen kan ha en koppling till varandra, men har endast tillåtelse att engagera sig i det ena. Cherstin Juhlin föddes 1948 och är bosatt i Kristianstad, i Skåne. Hon har en 30 år lång erfarenhet som polisinspektör och brottsutredare, och är nu pensionär. Under 10 års tid har hon även varit kåsör i Kristianstadsbladet och gett ut 2 kåserisamlingar.
