For 4 a°r siden udgav Kim Gravenhorst i samarbejde med fotograf Jacob Ljørring Danmarks første bog om havtorn, Havtorn – Nordens citron, og allerede a°ret efter udkom Havtorn – Desserter, kager og søde sager. Da den første bog udkom, skulle man i specialforretninger eller ud at plukke selv, hvis man ville arbejde med havtorn. Det har heldigvis ændret sig, og i dag er havtorn at finde i stort set alle fødevarebutikkernes frysediske. Samtidig er den generelle viden om havtorn steget markant, og de fleste ved nu, at havtorn er overordentlig sundt, og at bare et enkelt bær indeholder lige sa° meget C-vitamin som en hel appelsin. De to bøger har samlet solgt imponerende 10.000 eksemplarer, og danskerne er slet ikke færdige med havtorn. Derfor kommer nu en tredje havtornbog, der samler alt det bedste fra de to første bøger og tilføjer 10 nye, spændende opskrifter.
