Gerhard Richter: 100 Abstract Pictures
With a career spanning more than sixty years, the renowned painter Gerhard Richter is one of the greatest artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. This book celebrates the artist’s continued dedication to experimentation and innovation. The Abstract Pictures were created when Richter, a few years ago, poured colored enamel paints onto a glass plate and allowed them to flow into one another in order to take shapes. He then captured these ephemeral moments with his camera and selected 100 of these “pictures” for inclusion in the book alongside equally abstract texts formed by randomly generated letter combinations. An artwork of its own, this intimate volume inspires both close looking and a beautiful interpretation of abstraction.

Gerhard Grim söker livets goda, men upptäcker att livet består av uppoffringar. TOR HEDBERG 1862-1931 var en svensk författare, dramatiker och ledamot av Svenska Akademien. Han blev under studietiden i Uppsala nära vän med Oscar Levertin och han figurerar unde aliaset Torsten Hedman i Hjalmar Söderbergs Den allvarsamma leken. Hedberg skrev kritik för Svenska Dagbladet och Dagens Nyheter, och var under tolv år chef för Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern. Han fick sitt litterära genombrott med Johannes Karr [1885] och Judas [1886].

Tor Hedberg (18621931) var mångsidigt verksam. Han började sin författarbana som prosaberättare, men från 1890-talet tog lyriken och framför allt dramatiken överhanden. Präglad av 80-talets liberala frisinne, förnuftstro och bildningssträvanden var han en träffsäker och ledande kritiker, först i Svenska Dagbladet, därefter i Dagens Nyheter. Han var chef för Dramatiska Teatern och blev senare Thielska galleriets första intendent. I romanen Judas (1895) skildrar Tor Hedberg Jesu gärning och död ur förrädarens perspektiv och ställer grundläggande frågor om svekets och skuldens natur. Versdramat Gerhard Grim (1897) handlar om livets balansakter, om konsten, kanske om omöjligheten, att förena intellektualism och sinnlighet, ensamhet och gemenskap, arbete och kärlek.
