Denna mans spiritualitet kunde sannerligen överraska i en konversation. Jag kollade hans mun, jo han log. Det tog några sekunder tills jag kunde urskilja hans ansikte som var vänt mot solen. - Vad vill du att jag ska berätta? sade jag lekfullt till honom. Han ryckte på axlarna. - Vad som helst, sade han. En egen historia, från ditt eget liv. En sann historia. Viktiga och sanna ögonblick som handlar om vänskap ska det vara. - Vad sa du? blängde jag på honom, nu med blandade känslor. - En historia om vänskap, är det något fel med det? svarade han förvånat. - Nej, det andra du sa, om viktiga och sanna ögonblick, påpekade jag. Det var ju inte många timmar sen jag mötte snubben i drömmen som pratade om samma sak. Vikten av ett liv i vänskap, de givna ögonblicken i en människas liv. Någonstans i Sverige sker ett möte mellan Kosmos, en före detta grek som avsagt sig sin grekiskhet, Katrin en som vill väl om alla och Björn en historieprofessor som kan nästan allt och lite till. Under den korta tid deras vägar möts blir Kosmos tillfrågad om en berättelse. En enkel fråga väcker en storm av känslor hos denna ambivalenta människa som resulterar i berättelsen om Plutos. En uppdiktad figur från Kosmos barndom som skildrar allt som landet därifrån har betytt. Plötsligt väller en erinran fram från ett liv och ett lands händelser som Kosmos förträngt och för länge sedan avsagt sig. Historia och personliga händelser vävs ihop till en resa i tid och rum. I berättelsen som han låter sina vänner ta del av står Katrin och Björn som två gestalter och fasta referenspunkter från den nya verklighet Kosmos låtit sig assimileras av. Den Andra Sanningen utspelar sig i Grekland, och i Sverige. Boken handlar om vänskap men är också en betraktelse över separation och om det som inträffar i det outsagda.
