Vem kan bättre sammanfatta medeltidens vetande än Dante? För första gången i svensk översättning utkommer nu Convivio där astronomi, filosofi, kultur och religion diskuteras i prosa och dikt av en av världslitteraturens mästare. Convivio är därtill ett av vetenskapshistoriens viktigaste verk eftersom det var skrivet på folkspråket, för att visa att lärdom inte nödvändigtvis måste meddelas på latin. Med Convivio (Festmåltiden) ville Dante visa att man på folkspråket kunde behandla ämnen som vanligtvis hade varit förbehållna latinet. I det här fallet var ämnet filosofi och folkspråket italienska. Här serverar Dante en pedagogisk sammanfattning av skolastiskt tänkande och medeltida vetenskap, oumbärlig för en djupare förståelse av hans Divina commedia och uppslagsrik för den historiskt intresserade.Convivio skrevs när Dante var i exil och var ursprungligen planerad att omfatta femton böcker. Endast fyra fullbordades, och även om verket aldrig nådde en vidare läsekrets utgör det ändå inledningen till en ny fas i den europeiska kulturen genom att ange ett användningsområde för folkspråken som visade sig utan gräns.Översättning, inledning och kommentarer av Paul Enoksson.

Convivial Conservation
Global biodiversity is declining at an alarming rate, leading to calls for urgent change in how humans govern, conserve, and live with non-human species. It is argued that this change must be radical and transformative, and must challenge the structures and systems that shape biodiversity conservation.
