De Vita Korsen I Karlskrona
År 1998 uppfördes örlogsstaden Karlskrona som objekt nummer 560 på UNESCOs lista över omistliga världsarv. Anledningen var främst att Karlskrona var den enda örlogsstaden i Europa som hade en obruten fungerande tillverkning av krigsfartyg sedan slutet av 1600-talet. I Unescos motivering nämns dock inte att det i denna stad även finns en obruten fungerande marin ordensverksamhet som är starkt knuten till varvet och den svenska flottan. Denna verksamhet kommer till uttryck i vita kors som i över 200 år stått på olika platser i Karlskrona och dess omgivning. Flertalet står på klippor ute i vattnet, på skär eller uddar och ett fåtal inne på land på platser med en viss historisk betydelse. Dessa vita kors sätts upp och förvaltas av ett ordenssällskap som heter Kronans Coldin. Bland ledamöterna i denna orden återfinns flertalet av de amiraler, varvschefer, ingenjörer och konstnärer som satt sin prägel på Karlskrona under lång tid. Numera kommer ordens medlemmar ur alla samhällsskikt. Boken ges ut i samband med firandet av att det nu är 250 år sedan Kronans Coldin officiellt instiftades år 1769. Den innehåller information om korsens placering och historiska bakgrund. Utan att avslöja något om de hemliga kunskaper som finns inom orden ges en sammanfattning av Coldinu Ordens historia och det historiska sammanhang i vilket den har utvecklats och kommit till Sverige.
