CRKT® and noted knife designer Ken Onion are proud to introduce the Aluminum Ripple™ K415KXP folding edc knife. IKBS™ Ball Bearing Pivot System Flipper Opening Aluminum Handles The Ripple is noteworthy for its exceptional manufacturing quality, plus an almost unbelievable silky smooth and fast opening action thanks to the use of the IKBS internal knife ball-bearing system. The modified drop point blade has a high hollow grind, swedged top edge, and a high satin finish. Blade Steel is 8CR14Mov high carbon stainless steel with an HRC rating of 57-59. The blade is instantly opened by pressing the blade flipper with either hand. For safety while closed, the blade has a ball detent. Even the best conventional blade pivot bearings have some degree of friction which resists initial movement, or "stiction." In contrast, the Ripple blade opening action is almost friction-free due to the IKBS ball-bearing system. This innovative and simple design places ball bearings built into the stainless pivot screw. It is compact and adjustable at the blade pivot screw if ever needed. Not only is opening and closing exceptionally smooth, the IKBS system is durable and requires little maintenance, and yields a folder with great rigidity and no blade play. The Ripple K415KXP model has locking liner. In typical Ken Onion attention to detail, the aluminum handles are CNC machined with over 40 lightening holes and small ripples. The handles are then hard anodized black and then the top of the ripples are polished off to create a pocket worn finish. Ken Onion designed the stainless steel clip so it tucks away nicely in your pocket for every day carry and easy access. CRKT Jumbones
When student becomes master. In 2018, Jeff Park—under the tutelage of Ken Onion—released his first production knife, the Crossbones everyday carry folder. It won Blade Show’s coveted Knife of the Year award. Now, it’s back and it’s big. Really big. Just like its more compact counterpart, the Jumbones is modeled after the first custom release of designer Jeff Park from Mililani, Hawaii. Jeff has been Ken Onion’s right hand shop man for over ten years now, and, after much goading, finally released a custom design of his own. It was received so well by the industry, it’s making a second appearance. Fully open, it measures in at a staggering 11”. The oversized blade contributes to 4.8” of the length, features a full flat grind, and is deployed swiftly and smoothly with an IKBS™ ball bearing pivot system. The brushed aluminum two-tone handle, when closed, resembles the shape of a dog bone and gives the Jumbones its name. It’s finished with jimping on the back spacer for in-hand control and a Crossbones logo on the pivot. CRKT Siwi
Built by a hero, refined by an expert. Retired Sergeant Major, Darrin Sirois channeled experience from 25 years of active duty into the creation of his original design. The knife world loved it. Then, renowned expert, Chris Williams made several small suggestions. The revisions boosted the SiWi™ compact tactical fixed blade into a league all its own. This is collaboration at its finest. If there’s one thing that Darrin Sirois has learned from his time overseas, it’s that if a tool can’t endure some of the most extreme conditions imaginable, it’s not worth having on hand. So when he was in his Fayetteville, North Carolina shop, designing the knife that was to later become the SiWi™, his mission was singular: make it last. Then Chris Williams stepped in. He’s a master of aesthetic, and with several small tweaks, together they elevated the SiWi™ to a design force to be reckoned with and gave it a name that reflects the collaborative process. Match made. This mission-ready fixed blade is a compact powerhouse. Though that sounds like a paradox, the proof is in the incredibly stout modified drop point SK5 carbon steel blade. Finished with a non-reflective and highly resistant black-powder coat, it’s built to last, a quality that’s equally as evident in its unique G10 handles. The handles match the 3.3” blade in its compact-yet-stout capacity with texture for a strong grip even in the grittiest conditions. The subte jimping on the back spine finishes the look and feel.
