Located in Odenas, in the Beaujolais wine region, Domaine Bonnet Cotton is a young winery that owns around 12 hectares of vineyards spread across the appellations of Beaujolais, Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly, Régnié and Fleurie. The winery is housed in the old cellar once owned by the Sanvers family and founded in 1856. The Gamay grapes come from an organically farmed plot located next to the winery in Odénas, with vines around 65 years old. The soil has a unique composition: a mixture of pink granite and diorite. After vinification in concrete vats, the finished wine ages in foudres for 8 months. Côte de Brouilly is the estate's signature wine and the first cuvée created. It is a youthful, fragrant, and light wine that maintains all the liveliness and freshness typical of Gamay, but also has a strong character. Its clear and brilliant color has dark ruby ​​tones. On the nose, it reveals fragrant aromas of dark fruits and Mediterranean herbs with a mineral background. On the palate, it is dry and balanced, with a medium body, a good concentration of fruit, and an acidic backbone of good intensity. The finish is persistent and recalls mineral traits. It is the ideal wine with pork stew and also pairs well with pasta recipes with sauce such as the classic Amatriciana.

Chateau de Corcelles Brouilly Vieilles Vignes 2022

This elegant cru Beaujolais is the handiwork of Chateau de Corcelles, a truly iconic local winery that has been producing wine for over 300 years and is known for its exceptional quality and commitment to traditional winemaking practices. The estate vineyards are located on the hillsides surrounding the estate on granite and schist-rich soils. Chateau de Corcelles focuses on low-intervention winemaking and minimal use of additives wherever possible to create their lively and vivacious Beaujolais wines. This cru Beaujolais is made from 60 year old Gamay grapes and is aged in oak barrels for several months for additional complexity and polish. On the nose expect rich and fruity aroma with enchanting notes of cherry, wild berries and subtle spiced hints. The first sip reveals a medium body with a bright freshness and firm tannins, ending in a long, satisfying finish. Overall Chateau de Corcelles Brouilly Vieilles Vignes is a versatile wine that pairs well with a variety of dishes thanks to the zippy acidity and firm tannins. Those tannins in particular complement the rich flavors of grilled or roasted meats, such as beef, lamb, or pork. It can also be cellared for a few more years if desired.

Chateau Thivin Cote de Brouilly Cuvee Zaccharie 2022

An ancient Beaujolais estate whose origins date back to the 16th century, Château Thivin was purchased in 1877 by Zaccharie Geoffray and his wife Marguerite Bernard. Since then, the estate, located in Odenas, on the slopes of the Brouilly hill, has remained in the hands of the Geoffray family, now in its sixth generation, and still produces some of the finest wines of the area. The company's most prestigious wine, which pays homage to the founder Zaccharie Geoffray, is produced with Gamay Noir grapes harvested by hand in the best plots of the Côte de Brouilly, and especially in the oldest vineyards La Chapelle and Godefroy where the vines have an average age of 50 years. Here the vines enjoy a soil composed of porphyry stones and clay characterized by excellent drainage. After vinification, the wines are aged separately in a mix of new and used barrels for 10-11 months before blending. The Cote de Brouilly Cuvee Zaccharie reveals a deep and brilliant color with ruby ​​tones and a fruity and fragrant aromatic profile with notes of blackcurrant, ripe cherry, and blackberry followed by hints of sweet spices. On the palate, it is round and soft, complex and concentrated, with fine tannins and a well-balanced acidity. The finish is long and slightly spicy. It goes well with roast pork, grilled duck breast, and Comté cheese.
