Buffalo Bill och indianerna
1885. Till Buffalo Bill Codys show anländer legendskrivaren Buntline. Bill ber sin partner Nate att försöka få iväg Buntline, eftersom han själv intresserar sig mer för ankomsten av indianen Sitting Bull. Denne begär genom sitt ombud Halsey att hans trupp skall få bo på andra sidan av floden, att alla får filtar, att han får sex veckors förskott samt att Bull också kommer för att han drömt om att möta presidenten. Efter ytterligare krav avskedar Bill indianerna. Skarpskytten Annie Oakley hotar med att säga upp sig om inte indianerna återanställs. Bull kommer tillbaka självmant efter att ha givit sig iväg. Ett telegram meddelar att presidenten kommer. Bull vägras ett sammanträffande med presidenten och försvinner - likaså gör Buntline. Bill får höra att Bull dödats och efter en dröm gör han om sin show för att mer rättvist skildra Custers sista strid. Halsey spelar Bull och besegras lätt av Buffalo Bill.

It seems that the army want to use the ranchers' land to set up a base and that the sheriff is prepared to use fair means and foul to clear the area. Sprung from jail by a bunch of murderers, Billy, Fuzzy and Jeff (Malcolm McTaggart) soon find they're being framed for the crimes of three impersonators.
