Boken Kraitz handlar om Ulla och Gustav Kraitz. Det är två konstnärer som är förankrade i den nationella och internationella konst kontexten. Förutom i Sverige har de haft utställningar och uppdrag med offentliga verk i New York och San Francisco och i en rad europeiska länder.Ulla Kraitz är utbildad målare vid Konstfack i Stockholm och Gustav Kraitz är utbildad skulptör vid Konstakademien i Budapest. Han flydde 1956 från Ungern till Sverige. I drygt fyra år var han i sovjetisk fångenskap och tvingades att arbeta i kolgruvorna i Donbass-distriktet.År 1960 träffade han Ulla Stenqvist och gifte sig med henne. Under mer än ett halvt sekel har de arbetat tillsammans som utvecklats och bildat ett sammanflätat konstnärskap där två olika temperament förenas.I Förslöv i Skåne har de sin kinesiska brännugn där aska och luftströmmar skapar glasyr enligt en tusenårig teknik. Det är en teknik som ingen behärskar som Gustav Kraitz. De behandlar på ett genomgripande sätt det offentliga rummet som en visuell upplevelse, där människan inbegrips i helheten. Skulpturerna byggs upp med geometriska former som ställs mot de organiska. Verken är arkaiska och uttrycker något allmängiltigt, såsom livets uppkomst och dess gåta. Skulpturerna visualiserar skönhet, där livet står i centrum.Den rikt illustrerade boken ger en ingående bild av parets Kraitz konstnärskap. Det avslutande kapitlet berättar om höjdpunkten i deras verksamhet. Under 20-års tid har de haft en vision att skapa en konsthall på Bjärehalvön. År 2022 förverkligas denna vision, då Kulturhuset Ravinen i Norrvikens trädgårdar i Båstad öppnade. Byggnaden är ritad av Möller Arkitekter.
