Alvar Aalto

Luonnon yhteys arkkitehtuuriin on arkkitehti Alvar Aallon suunnittelutyön kiinnostavimpia piirteitä.

221 valokuvaa, 61 piirrosta, 4-värinen, kielet: suomi, englanti, saksa, italia, 4 taiteaukeamaa, koko 240 x 340.

Alvar Aalto Homes

Kirjassa esitellään 30 kohdetta. Yhden perheen taloja on 12 tehtaanjohtajien asunnoista ystäville suunniteltuihin yksilöllisiin koteihin. Paritaloista on mukana vaatimattomat Asevelitalot Tampereella. Englanninkielinen. Designers On Sofas

The first title in a new series from tastemakers Monocle, this is a fun, informative collection of portraits and biographical interviews with 50 architects from all over the world sitting on their sofas revealing their style, wit, personality - and sofa choices. Bringing architects and their sofas together in a lighthearted way, this book aims to find out what makes some of the world's most famous architects and designers tick. Each of its fifty entries features a portrait of an architect on their sofa, taken at their own home or workplace, sometimes with their family, their pets or with other possessions, each photograph capturing essential details about the architect's life, work and style. An in-depth interview accompanies each entry, so that readers find out not just about their sofa (for example whether or not they designed it, and if not why they chose it, and who it was designed by) but also about their life, their work, what they're passionate about and what they struggle with. Taken together, this collection of photographic portraits and interviews provides unique insights into the minds and lives of some of the greatest architects of our time. In addition, a special foldout presents 100 architect-designed sofas from the last century with designs by Le Corbusier, Alvar Aalto, Charlotte Perriand, Verner Panton, Cini Boeri, Zaha Hadid, John Pawson, and many more.

My Architect

OBS! Import. Kontrollera att språk och textning passar dig.Louis Kahn, world-renowned architect of buildings including the Bangladeshi Capitol Building and the Salk Institute, had two illegitimate children with two different women outside his marriage. One of them, son Nathaniel, always hoped as a boy that his illustrious father might come to live with him and his mother, but Kahn never left his wife, and was instead found dead at Penn Station in 1974 when Nathaniel was just 11, having spent years in massive debt. In this film, Nathaniel Kahn traces his father's past from his childhood to the pinnacle of his career, and travels the world to look at the buildings he created. He also looks at Kahn's personal life, exploring the reasons for - and consequences of - his inability to cope with his personal and financial responsibilities. Throughout his journey he talks to his father's friends, family members, contemporaries, students and other associates.Typ: DVD
