Gitarr från början riktar sig till barn som vill lära sig att spela akustisk gitarr eller elgitarr. Här finns olika stilar som pop, rock, metal, blues, klassiskt, gospel, folkmusik med mera. Sångerna presenteras med både noter och tabulatur som visar notvärden, för att ge lärare och elever möjlighet att använda det system som passar dem bäst. Boken går igenom olika gitarrtekniker som melodispel, kompspel, fingerspel och plektrumspel. Inspelningar med låtarna finns online så att eleven har möjlighet att spela med ett riktigt band.
