Swing al Dente Hotclub startades av bandmedlemmarna Carl Alberto Bettini (alias Joe Spinaci) och Måns Persson hösten 2007. Måns hade tillbringat sex år i Italien där han hade kommit i kontakt med och berörts starkt av Django Reinhardts musik. Väl hemma i Malmö stötte han lyckligtvis ihop med Carl Alberto och musikaliskt tycke uppstod omedelbart. Deras gemensamma kärlek till och respekt för Django gav dem idén till bandet och de började skissa på en grund för det som skulle komma att bli Swing al Dente.Efter en tid av planerande vid Carl Albertos köksbord tog de två gitarristerna kontakt med Mats Ingvarsson, en formidabel basist från Malmö som har arbetat med flera stora artister, och Filip Runesson, en extraordinär violinvirtous med fantastisk ton och tonspråk, och frågade om deras intresse. Efter den första repetitionen fanns ingen tvekan - Swing al Dente bildades!Senare under 2008 anslöt sig pianisten och dragspelaren Johan Olsson till bandet och med det var puzzlet komplett. Nu skrivs ett nytt kapitel i gruppens historia i och med att den självbetitlade debutplattan ligger färdig - "The Malmö Manouche Project" går vidare...
