This fabled implement of the mature Maasai Moran or warrior is one of the most distinctive spears in the world with its long, narrow blade, short wooden handle and heavy counterbalancing butt spike or shoe. The spear is a warrior's most precious possession and never leaves his hand except to rest point up in the earth at his side. Actually, many Maasai Morans develop such faith in the lethal power of their spear that they refuse to flee from danger as long as it is close to hand. That's understandable since young Maasai Morans are required to kill a lion single-handedly with their spear to prove their worth and manhood. Each spear is carefully cold-forged of high carbon steel and mated with a stout ash wood handle and sturdy counterbalancing spike. When fully assembled, it measures 6 ft long and weighs a bone shattering 3 lbs 2 ounces! Delivered unassembled, the razor-sharp Maasai spear consists of three part: First the blade itself measures 22" long by 2" wide and is forged with a thick reinforcing rib that runs down the center almost to the very tip. Second is the brown American ash shaft with a double taper which fits into twin sockets connecting butt and blade. Third is the heavy solid steel butt spike that is also heat-treated to a hard spring temper, just like the fearsome blade. This butt spike serves a second purpose, as its pointed tip can be used in lieu of the blade when practicing, thereby preserving the razor-sharp edge of the spear. When fully assembled, these three components form a ferociously effective weapon! New and Improved A fully armed 13th Century Knight was a true power, capable of plowing through a multitude of opponents while encased in his state of the art plate armor that could shed, deflect or absorb the blows of many of his foes. Enter the War Hammer- an ideal weapon for use against an opponent who is encased in plate steel. The heavy hammer head could crush the strongest helmet or suit of plate armor with just a few blows and the back spike could rip through helm and plate. In battle, the hammer side was usually employed first to knock down and stun an enemy. Once he was on the ground, helpless, the hammer was reversed and the back spike was used to punch a hole through the helmet and deliver the coup de grace. Now Cold Steel brings you an inexpensive, yet highly effective, recreation of this awesome hammer. Weighing a little over 2 1/2" lbs., our War Hammer is highly maneuverable and can be easily wielded with one or both hands. The head is drop forged out of 1055 steel and differentially heat treated. This means the point of the spike and enormous hammer face (1 1/2" x 1 1/2") are fully hardened so they can pierce and crush tough materials without failing while the rest of the hammer is left soft to absorb the shock of heavy blows. Made of straight grain American Hickory and measuring 30" long it provides tremendous leverage so enormously powerful blows may be struck. Cold Steels Indian War Club is injection molded from weatherproof high-impact polymer materials that are virtually impervious to impact. This material is highly resistant to the elements and won't warp, rot, crack or splinter like wooden versions. Each club is approximately 2 ft. long with a 3 1/4" diameter ball head, and fitted with a removable blunt steel stud. For historical re-enactors the surface has a realistic wood grain finish that can be easily painted and customized with brass studs, tacks, or feathers.

This is a traditional Chinese Gim, that’s styled for the imperial court! It’s impressive and stunningly beautiful design is sure to impress even the most jaded aficionado. The blade is fashioned from a fine Damascus steel with a distinctive, and beguiling pattern. It is heat treated to a hard spring temper so that it will resist metal fatigue and should return to true without bending or breaking, even during the duress of actual combat. The handle has a Rosewood core and is wrapped with silk cord. The guard, and pommel are elegantly detailed with a traditional Chinese decorative motif. The intricate, gold-colored designs are brought into high contrast by the application of a black enamel. The scabbard is made from select Rosewood and is decoratively styled to complement the sword’s grip.
