CRKT S.P.I.T.
A good knife doesn’t need to be complicated. The S.P.I.T.™ (Small. Pocket. Inverted. Tanto.) is a variation of the beloved S.P.E.W.™ (Small. Pocket. Everyday. Wharncliffe.), designed by Alan Folts of Melbourne, Florida. With a shorter fixed blade than its cousin, the S.P.I.T.™ features enhanced portability, but it keeps the large handle for extra leverage when cutting. Easy To Sharpen: High carbon stainless steel blade takes an edge well Precision Tip: Needle sharp blade tip for scoring tasks Curb Appeal: Stonewash and satin blade finish converge for striking look Exceptional Grip: G10 handle provides exceptional grip in all conditions Gear Compatible: Durable thermoplastic sheath with mounting options Compact Utility: Lightweight and easy to carry A designer and dedicated custom knife instructor with over 20 years’ experience, Alan cares deeply about helping folks learn about knives as tools, and passing along the skills of custom knife making to others. He designed the S.P.I.T.™ as a simple, versatile blade and gave it a carry sheath for easy portability, so it’s on hand when you need it most. Made with a needle-sharp tip, the S.P.I.T.™ takes advantage of what Inverse Tanto blades do best: slicing, piercing, and fine detail work. The 2.3-inch blade is easy to sharpen thanks to high-carbon steel, which is then finished in both satin and stonewash for an eye-grabbing duotone appearance that shows this knife means business. The bright orange G10 handle offers both a sturdy grip and makes sure you can locate the knife easily in your shop, gear bag, or wherever you leave it. In short, it’s a minimalist knife with maximalist usability.
CRKT S.P.E.C.
The power-packed contender for cutting. Chopping, slicing, or dicing, the S.P.E.C.™ (SMALL. POCKET. EVERYDAY. CLEAVER.) takes care of your cutting needs on the go. Designed by knifemaker Alan Folts, this portable knife is a coveted staple for camp kitchens, woodworking, and miscellaneous tasks in the garage. Inspired by the mighty butcher cleaver made for the chopping block, this reimagined knife doesn’t let its portable size hold it back. After Alan Folts of Melbourne, Florida released the popular Minimalist® Cleaver, the celebrated design gained traction with its rough and tough capabilities. With the original cleaver blade length coming in at 2.13” and 5.06” in overall length, this new version packs even more power with its larger build. Excelling in both indoor and outdoor tasks, the 5.63” long S.P.E.C.™ features a sturdy 2.44” fixed blade constructed of high-carbon stainless steel—making it effortlessly easy to sharpen and maintain. Similar to Alan’s S.P.E.W™ (SMALL. POCKET. EVERYDAY. WHARNCLIFFE), the S.P.E.C.™ is equally sturdy and strong from the blade’s tip, down to the grip. Modeled after its predecessor, the cleaver’s G10 handle flaunts a heavier texture for a securely comfortable grasp. Equipped with a sheath for added carrying versatility, slip it quickly onto your belt or bag for easy portability. Go ahead. Give it a try. You’ll see why this blade chops down the competition.
