After an unfortunate accident forces him to leave the Hitler Youth camp, Jojo discovers a teenage Jewish girl, Elsa Korr (Thomasin McKenzie), secretly taken in by his mother, hiding in his attic. Unable to hand her over to the Gestapo, Jojo reluctantly gets to know Elsa and begins to question everything he has learned growing up in the Third Reich.
