In command of the rescue mission is Captain Miller (Fishburne) who is joined by Event Horizon designer Dr William Weir (Neill). They follow a recently detected distress signal to the missing craft but when they arrive they find evidence of a violent massacre and are plagued by nightmarish visions which threaten their sanity and their lives.
