Experiment mot alla odds beskriver filmaren och gränsöverskridaren Åke Karlungs (1930-90) konstnärliga verksamhet under ett halvt decennium. Vi får följa en bana som ingen annans inom den öppna konstens labyrinter, och läsaren får möta en ny röst från marker vi trodde var genomtraskade många gånger om. Karlung var nyskapande inom animerad experimentfilm åren 1960 72.Tio av hans främsta filmer är nu restaurerade till HD-kvalitet och ingår på bokens Blu-ray-skiva. Åke Karlung experimenterade under hela sitt liv med ljud, såväl till sina filmer som till egna text ljudkompositioner. Bokens CD innehåller ett antal ljudverk aldrig tidigare utgivna på fonogram.Karlung låg i frontlinjen vad gäller elektronisk ljudbearbetning och experimentell filmkonst; han var aktiv inom flertalet spjutspetsorganisationer som arbetade med konst & teknologi på 60-talet. Hans gränsöverskridande konstutövning sträcker sig från bildkonst över rörliga filmbilder till mysteriespel och installationer. Det här gör att Teddy Hultbergs närstudie av Karlungs konstutövning även ger oss ett nytt perspektiv, och en kritisk blick, på det öppna och djärva 60-talets konst, i ett klimat där Karlung ofta hade en vidare kulturell utblick än flertalet av sina kamrater i de kretsar han verkade. Hans konst förbinder en radikal kritik av förtryckande maktsfärer och inskränkta ideologier med en öppenhet gentemot österländsk filosofisk tradition.Författaren och forskaren Teddy Hultberg har ägnat mer än tio år åt att utforska Karlungs oeuvre i skrift, bild, musik och rörliga bilder. Hultberg har bakom sig flera detaljerade studier över besläktade konstnärskap som Öyvind Fahlström, Elis Eriksson och Erik Beckman.
Erik Beckman I Etern - Hörspel Och Dramatik 1963-95 Samt Cd Med Beckmans Dramatiska Debut
Erik Beckman (1935 1995) är främst känd som poet och prosaförfattare, men vid sidan om en del kritik skrev han även en stor mängd dramatik, i första hand för radion. Vid en jämförelse väger det lika mellan det tjugotal verk Beckman skrev för boksidan och de som var avsedda att gå ut i etern. Verksamhetsfält och ordstigar var dessutom intimt sammanvävda.För att få syn på denna sida hos en av vårt lands skarpaste och roligaste författare har Teddy Hultberg vecklat ut den i hela sin längd och ställt bok vid drama längs hela författarskapet från 1963 95, en beskrivning av hur skrivprocesserna för skilda medier ständigt berörde och befruktade varandra. Hultberg beskriver också hans nära relation till Radioteatern, försöken att nå teaterscenen, och hur Beckman uppfattade och använde sig av radion som medium.Beckman blev tidigt stämplad som en "svår författare" en etikettering han själv flitigt tillbakavisade men trots god kritik sålde böckerna bara i små upplagor. Men när Radioteatern sände hans pjäser nådde han flera hundra tusen lyssnare och blev i praktiken en del av folkteatern.Med den rikt illustrerade boken följer en CD med Erik Beckmans dramatiska debut, radiopjäsen Vem-du-är och vad-vi-kan-tillsammans från 1969, även pjäsens manus återges i sin helhet.Teddy Hultberg är verksam som författare, forskare och kulturskribent.
