Där Inget Vissnar Mera
I Edinburghs gamla stadsdelar påträffas på kort tid flera döda unga kvinnor. Samtliga bär spår av en utdragen, plågsam död. Läkarstudenten Will Raven börjar som lärling hos den erkänt briljante Dr Simpson, som accepterar alla sorters patienter, rika som fattiga. I huset experimenteras det flitigt med nya medicinska landvinningar, inte minst på det spännande området bedövning. Där finns också tjänsteflickan Sarah Fisher, som med sin näsa för oegentligheter ogillar Will från första stund. Även om motiven skiljer sig åt, har Will och Sarah skäl att undersöka de märkliga dödsfallen närmare. Sökandet för dem djupt in i Edinburghs mörkaste skuggor, där de motvilligt måste börja samarbeta för att överleva. Där inget vissnar mera är en förtrollande spänningsroman som kombinerar den mörka stämningen från serier som Penny Dreadful och Taboo med den atmosfäriska närvaron i till exempel Ray Celestins prisbelönta Yxmannen.
En Njutbar Död
Edinburgh, 1849. Trots att Edinburgh är i framkanten av den medicinska forskningen, dör patienter i ovanligt hög takt i hela staden. Läkarskrået står maktlösa. Men det är inte bara dödsfallen som oroar den uppskattade doktor James Simpson. Illasinnade ryktesspridare gör sitt yttersta för att han ska få skulden för ett märkligt dödsfall. Simpsons protegé, Will Raven, och hans tidigare hembiträde Sarah Fisher är övertygade om att ryktet är falskt och ämnar bevisa sin välgörares oskuld. Men det är lättare sagt än gjort. Will har ett eget mörkt förflutet att handskas med och att Sarah försöker lägga sig i medicinska spörsmål högt över en kvinnas rättmätiga nivå väcker ont blod. När de tillsammans djupdyker i gåtan för att rentvå James Simpson inser de att till mordens förklaring är närmast otänkbar. En njutbar död är den fristående fortsättningen på Ambrose Parrys Där inget vissnar mera. Det är en atmosfärisk spänningsroman, en resa i Edinburghs förflutna som inte lämnar någon oberörd.
